Startup Academy

It is our unique educational program that inspires and develops everyone interested in the world of modern business and technology, used by startups. Over the course of seven months, the participant goes from getting to know how to work with an idea to perfecting presentation skills and marketing strategies. The series of workshops is led by experienced practitioners and mentors who help develop business ideas for projects.

Who is the academy for? → Pupils II. grades of elementary schools (especially 8th and 9th grade) and students of secondary schools and colleges from the Ústí Region, who are willing to learn and develop their business idea, have a proactive approach, and have enthusiasm and desire to learn. Just bring your idea - whether it's environmental, technical, social or from another industry. The basis is courage, determination, taste and an open mind.

What is the aim of the academy? → Based on the combination of theory and practice, open the door to the world of business to curious students and teach them how to turn a business idea into a thriving business.

When and where do we start? → In Thursday, October 3 at 3:00 p.m. we will meet for the first time and introduce your business ideas. Subsequently, we will meet on Thursdays from 15:00 to 17:00, always in the ICUK premises – Velká Hradební 2800/54 in Ústí nad Labem.

Competition and educational events

We support the participation of pupils and students in various competitions, e.g. in robotics, programming or 3D printing.

SUMMER CAMP YOU CAN DO BUSINESS (August 22-29, 2024)

⇒ The umpteenth annual educational, motivational and competitive event took place this year in our region, right in Krásná Lípa! A week with mentors from practice, a great team spirit and lots of activities, networking, sharing know-how, but also a leisure program and new friendships... all this and much more is what a summer week camp brings.

ROBUL (October 2024 – March 2025)

⇒ Under the leadership of the Faculty of Science of JE Purkyně University and in cooperation with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, the project "Robot for international competitions" is created, the goal of which is to assemble a robot based on predetermined conditions and participate in the competition FIRST Robotics Competition in the USA.

⇒ What did our team's journey look like in the 2023/24 school year? We tested whether we can build a robot in such a short time, whether we can get money for the trip and whether we can succeed in the huge competition of professional teams. And how did it turn out? 3D ICUK HACKATHON (March 6-7, 2025)

Talent support in secondary schools

→ Starting this school year, we want to select students based on our Talent Identification Methodology and provide the necessary resources to develop their abilities.

→ The selection methodology is mainly based on recommendations from the school - the class teacher and/or other pedagogues, parents (legal representatives), and the motivation of the pupil himself to continue developing.

How does talent identification work?

• it starts at school and in the family
• continues with the student's self-assessment
• takes into account academic results, participation in competitions and (extra)curricular activities, and takes into account participation in educational courses or clubs

What does the supported pupil get?

• financial support for extracurricular (supplementary) certified studies in proven educational institutions
• the possibility of individual lessons to support the child's talent
• participation in educational and motivational trips
• other options according to the student's talent

• 2-4 week internships take place at ICUK
• topics assigned in cooperation with connected companies from the Ústí Region, e.g. project management, construction, media communication, marketing or healthcare

• at the end, a practical report in the form of a final thesis

Digital laboratory Digilab

We support technological discovery among pupils and students. The Digilab digital workshop consists of 3 laboratories: an electronic workshop, a 3D and VR workshop and a polytechnic workshop. You can do it separately for the whole class order a visit to the Digilab digital workshop, which is based at CEMMTECH in the UJEP campus in Ústí nad Labem.
