We are expanding our activities to support technology transfer. This step aims to connect university research with practice and support the regional innovation ecosystem. The newly created position will be key to the commercialization of university ideas and their application in business and public administration.
We are thus taking an important step to strengthen our position in the field of innovation and technology transfer. The newly established technology transfer position will serve to ideas and projects developed at the university were put into practice and at the same time that requirements and topics from business and public administration are integrated into the university environment.
"UJEP, as our main regional university, is a key source of knowledge for local businesses," Zdeněk Hušek comments on ICUK's new activity and adds: "It has the potential to become a source of academic spin-offs, i.e. companies built on university knowledge. The main goal of the new service is to ensure that knowledge from research at UJEP is effectively transferred into practice, which is key to the development of the regional innovation ecosystem."
This the service is intended to all who are looking for specific knowledge at the university or need to assess, whether their problem is solvable and interesting for the university. A key part of the work will also be the assessment of internal projects and their potential for commercialization.
Today, technology transfer is a common part of all regional innovation ecosystems. This step follows on from examples of successful centers at Masaryk University in Brno or Palacký University in Olomouc.
The establishment of this workplace is a step forward to connect academic research with practice, which will benefit not only the university, but also the entire Ústí Region.
