Barcelona is not only a beautiful city, but it is also one of the main European innovation hubs with a developed ecosystem not only for startups, but also for large technology businesses. For both of these reasons, the first pan-European meeting of regional teams dedicated to the development of innovation ecosystems took place here. There were representatives of the Ministry of Industry from the Czech Republic and, in addition to us, colleagues from the South Moravian Innovation Center.
In particular, cooperation within European value chains was agreed, i.e. the connection of research laboratories with innovative companies, company semi-operations with the aim of scaling technologies from the laboratory to a real business environment. We are particularly interested in this topic from the point of view of energy, hydrogen, geothermal research in Litoměřice, but also energy storage in smaller companies and municipalities. Dobry Kontakt is also a pan-European platform of the chemical industry that can help with the application of knowledge that is created at the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Environment of the UJEP. The companies expect that the research will be able to prepare the technologies to the level of "quarter-operational" demonstrators and then jointly take care of the development up to the prototype level. This would certainly help the application of our research, because this scaling can no longer be implemented in the conditions of a university.
The event took place in the representative premises of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, its organizer was the S3 platform of the DG Regio of the European Commission and the host was the government of the region of Catalonia.
