DigiLab inspires and motivates: Interest in studying technology is also growing

Shared DigiLab laboratories, which ICUK together with Faculty of Mechanical Engineering UJEP, established at the university, has enjoyed strong public interest in its first year since its launch. As of March 31, 2025, it had been visited by 2,479 people - including 1,118 visitors from the public, 85 university students, 34 people interested in innovative entrepreneurship, and 1,242 elementary and secondary school students.

These figures show that DigiLab has become not only a place for technological inspiration, but also for making decisions about the future. This is also confirmed by the significant increase in interest in studying at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FSI). Over the past two years, the new management of the FSI has managed to increase the number of newly enrolled students in the first years from 254 (2022/2023) on 321 (2024/2025)Total number of students at the faculty increased from 520 to 669. The connection is obvious - open communication, practical demonstrations, and the availability of technologies in DigiLab awaken interest in technical fields among elementary school students.
