Four feature films will receive a subsidy from the program for the support of audiovisual production in the Ústí Region, based on the decision of regional representatives. The region will be visited next year by directors who have already filmed successful works here - Dan Svátek (The Smiles of Sad Men) or Viktor Tauš (The Traitors series).
"We are pleased with the great interest of filmmakers in this subsidy program. Above all, the incoming production will significantly support the local economy, and at the same time, the marketing potential associated with filming can also be used." explained the indisputable benefits of the grant title Jiří Řehák, deputy governor for tourism, culture and heritage preservation.
The variety of genres and themes of the films points to the colorful environment and the wide possibilities of using the locations of the Ústí Region as they have long been perceived and used by filmmakers. In addition to the locations, the creators in the Ústí Region plan to use a number of services and goods.
"The projects were selected and evaluated by a seven-member commission made up of film professionals and experts and two representatives from the region," she added Barbora Hyšková from Film offices of the Ústí Region, which provides the grant title. The Ústí Region will therefore redistribute 3,100,000 crowns among the successful applicants, but overall the filmmakers will spend here (including the subsidy) 7,644,500 crowns.

YEAR OF THE WIDOW – directed by Veronika Lišková, subsidy 800,000 CZK
YANKEE – directed by Viktor Tauš, subsidy 800,000 CZK
NOTEBOOK OF AN ALCOHOLICAL WOMAN – directed by Dan Svátek, subsidy 700,000 CZK
FOREST – directed by Tomáš Weinreb, Petr Kazda, subsidy 800,000 CZK
