On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, our traditional cooperation with JA Czech (Junior Achievement) moved from Ústí nad Labem to Žatec, which is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Over 60 high school students from schools in the region gathered in the renovated space of the Capuchin Monastery to work together on a competition challenge.
The main task at the camp was come up with a business plan for your own startup or project that will use the specifics of the local region to build a sustainable and competitive business that will make the region a modern place for young people.
He also personally expressed his support for young innovators Deputy Mayor of Žatec RNDr. Pavel Pintr, Ph.D., to whom many thanks are due.
Students worked in mixed teams under the leadership of experienced mentors from the Innovation Center of the Ústí nad Labem Region and other institutions, and prepared competition projects, which they then presented to a professional jury.
The competition was held in three categories:
- Best business idea, in which the team won ECOFARMA RANEC (mentor Jaromír Machek, Coca-Cola HBC Czech Republic and Slovakia) – organic farm, which feeds its animals with leftover hops and is focused on producing quality meat and dairy products from its own breeding and an experience center for families with children in one
- Best Lean Canvas, in which he won Flow and Flavor Festival (mentor Karolína Macková, ICUK) – a three-day gastronomic and cultural experience for young people
- Best presentation, in which he won INFINITY SPORT ŽATEC team (mentor Barbora Červenková, ICUK) – an innovative sports center in Žatec that supports an active lifestyle and offers people a modern space for sports, exercise and relaxation
