The Olympic Festival in Most came to life in terms of technology and startups thanks to the participation of the Innovation Center of the Ústí Region, which operated there for over two weeks and offered sports performances as well as the opportunity to admire and get excited about innovations and technologies.

The ICUK stand immediately attracted the attention of all age groups thanks to the cute robot Rubby, who was able to make eye contact with visitors, greet them, introduce herself, and inform them about the Olympic Games, the festival and ICUK services. Visitors could also try robotic cars programmed by skilled students, who at the same time assembled the robot ROBUL, which the Ústí Region together with ICUK successfully represented in Chicago this spring.  

Sports startups and the President of the Czech Republic in action

The ICUK stand also introduced festival participants to sports startups that have successfully passed the Innovation Center's incubation and acceleration programs in recent years and are now changing the sports industry. Sports enthusiasts were thus attracted by the climbing wall with ecological polyurethane holds BLOCKids successful startup VirginGrip and a unique trainer Rowingo, faithfully copying the rowing shot, attracted even the President of the Czech Republic, Peter Pavl, who enthusiastically tested the innovative machine for himself.

Competitions and comparison of forces with the champion

There was a positive atmosphere at the stand throughout the Olympic Festival also thanks to various creative and sports competitions, which even in the sweltering heat encouraged the visitors to great performances, for which it was possible to win valuable prizes and medals. Another layer of fun 
and the excitement was brought by the unique opportunity to compete and compare their strengths with the boxing champion Fabiana Bytyqi, who is also part of the ICUK team.

For enthusiastic people interested in entrepreneurship, innovation and robotics in the Ústí Region, the Innovation Center offered the opportunity to sign up for the autumn run of the business incubator Startup GO! or reservation in a shared open digital workshop DigiLab, which brings the opportunity to discover the world of virtual reality and 3D printing, electronics, robotics and other technologies under expert guidance, to turn theoretical knowledge into practical skills and ideas into innovations.

At the stand, ICUK also presented the website ustiregion.cz, where it presents the Ústí Region as a place full of opportunities and a new start for talents and young families, for whom the region in particular offers quality housing, life and work and study opportunities in the midst of surprisingly beautiful nature. It is also a region full of active people with a heart connection to their region, which ICUK presented in the Nový start podcast interviews.
