Innovative companies in the region go head to head for prestigious award. Application deadline extended to November 4
The Ústí Region and the Innovative Centre of the Usti Region (ICUK) have announced a competition to determine the most innovative company in the region for 2018. Judges will be examining the innovation of products, services, and technologies in two categories: small and medium-sized businesses and large businesses. The deadline for submitting applications has been extended to November 4.
Applications for the ICUK competition can be submitted by small and medium-sized businesses based in the Ústí Region and large businesses either based in the region or with operations in the region. A panel of experts will judge their products, services, and technologies developed within the last three years; however, they must be entirely new products, services, and technologies or at least those that have undergone substantial innovation.
‘Thanks to this competition, companies have the opportunity to present their innovation activities and thereby increase their prestige and build stronger relationships with their customers. I trust there are a number of enterprises in our region with innovations to show off,’ says Ústí Region governor Oldřich Bubeníček.
‘This is precisely the goal we had in mind when we founded the innovation centre here in our region – to showcase successful companies and support them in their continued development. And by so doing perhaps motivate other innovators to try something new,’ explains deputy governor Stanislav Rybák.
‘We primarily want to use the competition to elevate important innovative companies in the region, reward their innovative efforts, provide examples of success, and motivate other businesses to innovate too,’ says ICUK director Tomáš Siviček.
Electronic applications, which are available on the websites of the Ústí Region and the ICUK, can be submitted from 18 September to 4 November 2018. Winners will be announced during a gala awards ceremony to be held at the beginning of December.
The most innovative companies in both categories will each receive a cash prize of 40,000 CZK, while the runners-up will receive 25,000 CZK and third-place winners 15,000 CZK each. Additionally, winners will be entitled to use the mark ‘Innovative Company of the Ústí Region 2018’ in their logo.
Specialist partners to the competition are CzechInvest and the Chamber of Commerce of the Ústí Region. More information about the competition, the complete rules, and the electronic application form can be found here.
