Two dynamic days full of inspiration, networking opportunities and the sharing of valuable experiences of innovation teams from all over the Czech Republic brought new opportunities to strengthen cooperation between individual regional innovation centers and support the economic and technological development of regions.
The meeting takes place once a year and is organized by selected implementers of regional innovation strategies (hence the abbreviation RIS) in their regions. This time, the RIS3 meeting was organized by the Innovation Center of the Ústí Region (ICUK) and was dedicated to the topic of internationalization. It was attended not only by representatives of the implementation teams of individual innovation strategies in the regions of the Czech Republic, but also by representatives of the Ústí Region, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, CzechInvest, CzechTrade and others.
"It is an opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss best practices and find new ways to support innovation and transformation of our region. I appreciate the work of our RIS3 team, whose activities I try to support as much as I can as director of ICUK."
Strengthening cooperation and trends in innovation
An interesting program, consisting of presentations of successful projects from individual regions, news, panel discussion, information on platforms for international cooperation, strengthened the knowledge of the teams in the topic of internationalization and current trends in the field of innovation.
The workshop part was particularly interesting, when the RIS3 teams were divided into three groups and together they were to create initial internationalization strategies for the Western part (cooperation of regions neighboring or close to Germany), the Southern part (cooperation of regions with the countries of the former Austria-Hungary) and the Northern part ( for cooperation with Poland, the Baltics and Scandinavia).
As part of the accompanying program, ICUK organized a guided tour of industrial monuments of Czech-German origin in Ústí nad Labem with a well-founded interpretation by a historian, promoter of Czech-German heritage and currently a senatorMartin Krska ending with a discussion and joint grilling.
The meeting of RIS3 teams once again provided us with a valuable platform to share knowledge and strengthen cooperation between regions. The next edition will be hosted by the Moravian-Silesian Region. The meeting of RIS3 teams was supported as part of the Smart Accelerator project for the Ústí Region III, registration number CZ.02.01.02/00/22_009/0004316, co-financed by the European Union from OP JAK.
