Experts from the 'School Day' program presented their complex professional stories to more than 200 primary school pupils from Ústí nad Labem

In the Innovation Center of the Ústí Region, on the morning of Thursday, March 14, a quartet of experts gathered, who pointed out in their cases, what obstacles they encountered during their professional and personal journey, what doubts and fears they dealt with, how they turned mistakes into opportunities, how failures strengthened them and they did not give up their path and goals despite the reservations or mistrust of others.

Experts from various professions work in the program A day for school primarily as volunteers and, like hundreds of other vetted volunteers in the database, they like to bring experience, inspiration and motivation to teaching. They not only support planning and decision-making about the students' future study or work, but also increase their self-confidence, self-confidence and growth mindset.

Pupils of the 8th and 9th grades of five Ústí primary schools listened to interesting personalities with inspiring stories in two time blocks.

They met an investor in start-ups, by Adam Blechau, who emphasized that consistency is important, because things do not resolve themselves over time, on the contrary, problems swell. He also highlighted the need to stick with good people who have a goal, are committed and want to achieve something.

The participants also met a psychologist and a mentor, Simon Steffal, who considers it important to compare oneself only with oneself, not with others, to monitor progress against one's past. He appealed not to give up, because you never know if success is waiting around the corner! Using many seemingly simple examples (e.g. a wrongly set alarm clock, including the consequences), he demonstrated that a mistake is a friend, if the same mistake is not repeated, then it is stupidity. It is important to learn from mistakes and not make the same ones.

She also presented her story on the topic Markéta Paulínová, which recommends finding your strengths and building your success on them, is herself an example of such a procedure and life and professional satisfaction. According to her, it is important to find your values, which you believe in and which you honor even in business. This pays off in the long run.

At the end, the energetic director of the Innovation Center shone, Martin Mata, who placed his contribution in the Ústí context, made an analysis of the region with the SWAT pupils and, against the backdrop of opportunities, made the pupils realize that everyone has the right to success. There is no right moment to start a successful career path, it is possible to start at any time.

Pupils appreciated real and authentic stories: "Thanks to the speakers from practice, the information that I receive in a different form from the teachers at school was confirmed for me. I now feel motivated with the desire to devote myself regularly to the things I enjoy, this is where I see my path", said one of the participants in the 8th grade of elementary school.

The event for pupils is the result of cooperation Česká spořitelna Foundation, which is behind the free program A day for school, a Innovation Center of the Ústí Region.
